Formed in middle Georgia in 1992 with members from Nuclear Fishin’ and the Piedmont Cooks as well as other local musicians. The band ran from 1992-1995 with a few personnel changes, however the core group has remained from the beginning. Traveling the southeast, the band played the circuit to any and all that would listen including playing shows with Drivin’ and Cryin’, Brother Cane w/Chuck Leavell, Derek Trucks Band, The Winters Brothers Band, The Outlaws, Jupiter Coyote and others.
“Mount Pilot has a penchant for writing songs” was quoted in a Gateway Macon article sighting the band as one of the Top 5 Influential Bands of the 90’s. Concentrating on the music first was the most important goal. There is no real agenda other than playing great shows and allowing the listener to escape into the writings of Chris Moorman, Chuck Puckett and Terry Bragg. The band, along with the songwriters/storytellers consists of Scott Little on guitar/mandolin, Evan Godbee on sax/keys, bassist Scott Park and drummer Mark Trawick.
